Fortnite Chapter 2 early patch notes: New map, mechanics, more

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 is almost here, as downtime has gotten underway – so let’s check out the patch notes. Fortnite Chapter 2 is almost live, kicking off its first season. We got a brief look at the trailer for the new Fortnite, so we already know a few things are going to change.We will have a new map to play with, along with several new and returning features, items, weapons, mechanics, and more. So, let’s take a look at the early patch notes, before Epic Games lay the full list of new content upon us once downtime is over.


Thanks to leakers who got their hand on the cinematic trailer for the new season, we now know for certain that there is a brand new map for Fortnite Chapter 2.This will, undoubtedly, feature a raft of new locations as we’ve already seen a Power Plant, dam, and a Fish Sticks-themed restaurant through the leaked video.


The days of running, slowly, through water appear to be over as we saw a swimming mechanic in the leaked trailer.Read More: Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 Battle Pass Trailer Leaked As players were fishing, one was bobbing around under the water – signaling that the tiresome running days are no more. There also looked to be a diving mechanic into the water, too, as one skin was seen jumping off of a cliff and into a stream below.

Battle Pass

As with every new season, we will get a battle pass that will include a ton of cosmetics to unlock – with missions and challenges returning too.That’s not all, though, as you’ll likely get your chance to earn a good portion of the money spent back in the free v-bucks that Epic put up for grabs. 1,500 were available in Season 10, and it shouldn’t be any different for chapter 2 unless they decide to up the ante!
